Brighton – Liverpool
Brighton are doing well in the Premier League since their promotion. They are currently 10th in the league standings, which is a great achievement for them. If they manage to keep this type of performance until the end of the season, they won’t have any problems to keep their place in the elite division.
In their last five matches Brighton & Hove won just once – against Swansea, but they still have 17 points won, which makes them comfortable at this moment. The manager Chris Hughton is doing a great work at this club and he deserves to be praised for what he’s doing. Brighton are not a team with potential for great things, but being in the middle of the table is a serious achievement for this club.
Now Liverpool are coming to town. The Reds are showing great form lately, winning four of their last five matches. They made a wrong step only once – against Chelsea, when the champions managed to win a point for a 1-1 draw at the Anfield. This is the type of performance Liverpool’s fans want to see – the team playing well and winning on a regular basis.
Right now Liverpool are 5th in the league standings with 26 points, but they are on just 2 points behind the 4th Arsenal. They need to keep this performance up, if they want to return to the Top 4. And you can be sure that this is their main goal at the moment. They are on 14 points behind the leader Manchester City, but finishing in the Top 4 is their biggest ambition at this moment. And it’s totally doable, if they manage to maintain their good performance from the last month.
