Bayern Munich – Augsburg
Bayern Munich hosts Augsburg in a match from the 12th round of the German Bundesliga.
Bayern are flawless since the club took the decision to sack Carlo Ancelotti and replace him with the legendary Jupp Heynckess. So far Heynckess’ record in the Bundesliga is four wins from four matches since he came back to the club. In the last round Bayern won the big derby against Borussia Dortmund, triumphing with 3-1 at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.
Right now Bayern are leaders in the Bundesliga, having an advantage of four points ahead of RB Leipzig. The club had some difficulties in the beginning of the season, but right now it looks like everything is back to normal since Jupp Heynckess took the job.
As for Augsburg, they are performing like a typical midtable team since the start of the season. They are currently 10th in the Bundesliga standings with 16 points won and a record of four wins, four draws and three losses. In their last game Augsburg made a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at home.
Bayern still can’t use the injured goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, while key players like Robert Lewandowski, Jerome Boateng, Javi Martinez, David Alaba and Thomas Muller are having some injury problems. It’s still not clear if they would be avaliable against Augsburg in the next game.
As for Augsburg, the away team will be without the injured Sergio Cordova, while Jan Moravek, Joannis Gelios, Martin Hinteregger, Georg Teigl and Moritz Leitner are all doubtful for the next game.
It’s clear that Bayern Munich are the obvious favourite here. How we already said, the team looks stabilized since the appointment of Jupp Heynckess. He’s a man who has tons of experience and knows the club very well. It’d be a surprise if Augsburg manage to take something from this match.
